Lowers high pH levels to maintain ideal water balance, improve sanitizer efficiency, and prevent scale or cloudy water.

Granular pH & Alkalinity Reducer
A fine, fast-dissolving acid-based formulation designed to safely reduce high pH and total alkalinity levels. Helps prevent scale buildup, reduces water cloudiness, improves sanitizer performance, and ensures overall water comfort.
pH Down
Available in a 950g bottle

Why Use This Product?

  • Gently reduces both pH and Total Alkalinity

  • Ideal for use when pH exceeds 6, to restore balance in the 7.4 – 7.6 range

  • Effective when Total Alkalinity is above 150 ppm

  • Elevated pH can lead to:

    • Skin and eye irritation

    • Inefficient chlorine or sanitizer use

    • Mineral scale deposits

    • Hazy or murky water

    • Potential long-term equipment damage and costly repairs

  • Made with high-purity ingredients

  • Micro-granular for quick dissolution

  • Acidic in solution with a pH of 1–2

When to Apply

  • As needed to maintain water pH within the optimal 7.4 – 7.6 range

  • When high TA needs correction

  • After water testing indicates pH or TA is outside safe levels

How Much to Use

Dosage will vary depending on current pH level:

  • pH between 7.0 – 7.9: add 8 g per 1,000 L

  • pH between 8.0 – 8.4: add 12 g per 1,000 L

  • pH above 8.4: add 15 g per 1,000 L

To lower Total Alkalinity:

  • 24 g per 1,000 L will reduce TA by 10 ppm

  • 1 capful ≈ 10 g

  • Do not exceed 25 g per 1,000 L in a single treatment

How to Apply

  • Run circulation system with jets on and air valves off

  • Distribute product slowly and evenly across water surface

  • Let water circulate for 1–2 hours

  • For pH control: retest and repeat if still above 6.0

  • For TA adjustment:

    • Do not allow pH to drop below 2

    • Reduce TA gradually – no more than 10 ppm per day

    • Monitor levels daily during adjustment process
